Aim

To study body composition, exercise capacity and their relationship to the risk of developing non-communicable chronic diseases (chronic diseases) in young women.

Design

A cross-sectional, observational and descriptive study was conducted on 310 women, who were grouped according to their body composition and exercise capacity in Met, high-risk group (HRG, n=89) and low-risk group (LRG, n=221) to develop chronic diseases.

Results

Significant differences were observed when comparing subjects classified according to their ability to exercise Met, anthropometric indicators with BMI, % fat, waist circumference (WC), p <0 01 in the high risk group we found correlations between variables: body weight bmi and factors for chronic diseases: fat wc systolic blood pressure met i p <0 01 also between the fat wc risk factors and bmi systolic blood pressure diastolic i p <0 01 finally an inverse correlation was seen between exercise capacity in met and risk factors: bmi fat i p <0 01 and with wc i p <0 05

Conclusions

We found that a low exercise capacity in Met and higher values in body composition associated with a high risk of developing chronic diseases in young women.
