Abstract
Statistics
Injuries are a serious problem in the training-competition process, since their occurrence leads to modification or interruption of activity. Any lesion alters training plans and is an important factor in monitoring of training. Within the sports community, the most common intervention focuses on recovery from injuries in order to return to previous performance levels, this process being expensive from both the economic and sporting points of view. However, in many sports, strategies aimed at injury prevention have not been systematically implemented, despite their proven effectiveness. The present article reviews some of preventive programs that can be incorporated into training schedules to minimize the impact of injuries.
